Annual Legislative Update

In the most recent legislative session, the Maine Legislature passed a number of new laws that will impact how schools conduct their business going forward. Together with Maine School Management Association, we invite you to our annual conference at which we will review the new laws and explain how the school law landscape has changed. Among the new laws we will discuss are:

• Changes to the enforcement of Maine's employment laws
• Changes to the "Dangerous Behavior" law
• Changes to Maine's Anti-SLAPP statute
• Changes to the transportation laws concerning operators of school activity buses
• New instructional requirements
• And others!

We will also discuss the policy implications of these new laws and provide sample policies, where applicable.
