Annual Legislative Update

In the most recent legislative session, the Maine Legislature passed a number of new laws that will impact how schools conduct their business going forward. In collaboration with Maine School Management Association, we invite you to our annual conference at which we will review the new laws and explain how the school law landscape has changed once again.  

The latest changes in the law include: 

 

• Changes to the Earned Paid Leave law;
• Changes to the Paid Family Medical Leave law;
• Creation of the Outdoor School for All Maine Students Program;
• Creation of the Maine Experiential Education Program Fund;
• Changes to the Restraint and Seclusion law;
• Changes to the laws governing architect and engineer services and school construction bonds;
• And others!

In addition to explaining these new laws, we will discuss their policy implications and provide sample policies to help you implement changes effectively.
