Tag - You're It!!! Determining Which Schools Carry What Duties to Provide Children a FAPE

At our annual December law conference, the Drummond Woodsum Special Education Team jumps headfirst into a comprehensive review of all that various legal standards that govern which schools carry what duties toward students with disabilities.

This will include:

• A review of residency rules
• Student transfer agreements
• Home schooling students
• Students in correctional facilities
• Students privately placed in private schools
• Students publicly placed in private schools
• The DOE’s proposed “Master Contract”
• Funding for SPPS placements
• McKinney Vento homeless students
• Students in nursing homes

Beyond this, we will be reviewing this year’s important hearing officer and court rulings; These decisions address important developments the area of student discipline, requests for private placements, and the scope of the duty to provide a FAPE. In short, this is a must-see conference addressing most key areas of special education. We recommend it for, well, EVERYONE!
