Paperwork with Purpose: Mastering Written Notice Drafting Under the IDEA
Description
This training provides attendees with practical, legally grounded guidance on drafting clear, compliant, and defensible Written Notices under the IDEA and MUSER. Because Written Notices are often the first documents we turn to in complaints and due process hearings, careful drafting is critical. The session will review the statutory and regulatory requirements as well as discuss common pitfalls. We will examine how written notices function as both a communication tool for families and a risk-management document for districts. We will also cover how to handle parents’ requests to amend. Attendees will leave more confident and prepared to draft strong written notices moving forward.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is designed for IEP Coordinators, Case Managers, Special Education Directors and Assistant Directors, anyone who drafts written notices or oversees the people who do.
As with all Drummond Woodsum events, we feature useful written materials, practical advice, and the most up-to-date legal analysis.
