Description

About the Program:
On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed H.R. 1, commonly known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” into law. This law includes a provision that purports to provide no tax on overtime, leading to several questions and headlines about what this might mean for employers. This bill allows a tax deduction for qualified overtime compensation received by an individual, subject to a deductions cap and income limitations, through 2029.
This webinar will review the “qualified overtime compensation” definition and examples of what does and does not qualify as overtime compensation for the purposes of the tax deduction. We will also discuss voluntary employer reporting for 2025, including the reasonable methods to estimate qualified overtime. Finally, the webinar will conclude with best practices moving into the 2026 tax year in anticipation of upcoming updates to the W-2 forms.
Join Hannah Devoe and Chris Stevenson on January 23, 2026 at 12:00pm for a one-hour webinar exploring the nuances of “no tax on overtime.”
