Navigating School Policies in 2025

This two-hour live, virtual school policy workshop is intended for school board members, Superintendents, and any other school employees involved in creating, revising, or updating school policies and procedures. Anyone who is interested in tuning up their school unit’s existing policies and procedures is encouraged to attend!

IN THIS WORKSHOP WE WILL:

Answer your school policy questions, including:

• What is the role of the school board and the administration in policy making and implementation?
• What is the difference between a school board “policy” and “procedure”?
• What do all those codes mean?

Cover school policy fundamentals, including:  

• When Board policies are needed and the purposes they serve;
• The policy making process from start to finish; and
• Policy mistakes to avoid.

Finally, we will walk attendees through how to update a policy by using recently updated sample policies and providing detailed explanations for the updates.
