About the program:
On April 24, 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice amended the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II regulations to include specific accessibility standards for websites and mobile applications operated by public entities. The most significant change to the rules included the adoption of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 – a series of detailed and complex requirements related to web content accessibility for persons with disabilities.
The new regulations went into effect on June 24, 2024; however, the Department of Justice has staggered compliance dates depending on the size of the public entity. Larger public entities (such as state agencies, public colleges and universities, and municipalities with populations of 50,000 or more) will need to comply with the new web accessibility requirements by April 24, 2026. Smaller public entities (including most municipalities and school districts in Maine and New Hampshire) will need to comply by April 26, 2027. In either case, it is important that all public entities understand these rules and methods for ensuring that web-based information and mobile applications are fully accessible to persons with disabilities.
Please join us on September 30, 2025, for a 2-hour webinar in which we will highlight key requirements of the new rules and detail the steps public entities should plan to take in the months ahead. We will also provide a detailed overview of our web accessibility audits that your agency may wish to pursue.
Who should attend?
This program is recommended for IT directors, administrators, and other personnel involved in website administration for school districts, municipalities, public colleges and universities, and other public entities.
