Important Information on New N.H. Statutes that Purport to Raise the Upper Age Limit for Special Education

In late June, Governor Sununu signed two identical bills that attempt to raise the upper age limit for special education. Both bills took effect once the Governor signed them. Below are links to two letters attorney Gerald Zelin sent to Jane Bergeron, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Association of Special Education Administrators. These letters summarize the bills, point out why they do not necessarily raise the upper age limit and suggest strategies for implementing them.
